PhotoWalkthrough 55 - Quick Tip 1 - Thea

This week we have the first short quick tips tutorial show on PhotoWalkthrough. We take a look at a picture with challenging lighting and show how to color correct for skin tones and then selectively reduce a single coloured light. Music for this week's closing slideshow is provided by Newton Faulkner.

Hey John, great idea with the quicktip. Haven't seen this kind of colourcorrection before.

And you even managed to change your shirt during the show. Nice magic *lol*

cu and looking forward to tutorial 14.

John - love the idea of the quicktips - makes a lot of sense. Having just had a baby myself I suspect this will be the way forward for you!!!

Quick question - The percentages you aimed for in CMYK (around 55% 50% 20% I think) - are these a general rule or does it depend on the photo being corrected?

Thanks and keep up the great work...

The percentages I was aiming at were specific to that picture but the general rule is that the magenta and yellow should be very similar with yellow just slightly above magenta. Then the cyan channel should be 1/3 to 1/5 of the magenta/yellow value.

Thanks for the comment about the quick tips format. As you say this might be an important way forward in the coming weeks!
