Tutorial 14, Chapter 5 - Ophelia's Mother

Back on track this week with a solid 15 minutes or more of video tutorial covering masking, adding depth with highlight and lowlight manipulation plus smart objects and a whole lot more. We also launch the PhotoWalkthrough "Best of 2007" competition with a magical mystery prize that I've not chosen yet. Music for this week's slideshow is provided by Mindy Smith and has a smooth Christmas vibe.

Tutorial 10, Chapter 2 - Mow Cop Castle

Tutorial 2 basically finishes the colour version of the Mow Cop Castle image and makes ready for the sepia duo-toned version. We cover some work on adding contrast and punch by darkening and masking and then do some dodging and burning and add a vignette. Plus all the usual explanation of why I'm doing what I'm doing.

Tutorial 9, Chapter 2 - Gun

It's another monster of a show. This week I over-ran to 33 minutes. Sorry about that - I'll try and keep it under 30 minutes in future. Lots of good stuff in there, though. Today I talk about brushes, especially how to load brush sets and modify your own brushes to get the effect you want. We use those brushes on Michelle's Gun image to add "grunge". I also take the time to go back over some more selection techniques that I missed out last week. Turns out I could easily do an hour just on making selections alone!
