Tutorial 15 covers this image that started as a very badly exposed RAW file. I cast it aside originally despite the fact that I'd had a good idea of what I wanted when I took it. The image just didn't seem rescuable without a lot of painstaking work. Enter LightZone - the photo editing app from Lightcrats.com. This handy utility helped restore my lost foreground easily and gives loads of really handy other tools for working with tonality in your images.
This tutorial makes extensive use of Lightroom and Lightzone to turn a badly broken image into one that hangs proudly on my wall now. It discusses the Zone System and how LightZone takes those concepts into the digital realm. We also do a lot of work with colour in Lightroom. I hope you enjoy it.
